To Reveal or Not to Reveal + GIVEAWAY!

So my Artfest workshop proposals are coming together. Well, one of them is coming together nicely; the other is a battle, but I'm determined to make it work. Oh, and if I get really crazy, I may even throw in a third proposal.

So here's a question for you + a GIVEAWAY! Do you think I should reveal my projects on my blog? If so, when?? Or should I keep them a surprise for when I get selected? ('Cause that's what's gonna happen, you know...I will teach at Artfest! I claimed it!) :)

Leave a comment with your opinion, and I'll enter you into a drawing to win a free print of your choosing from my Etsy shop along with some extra goodies of my choosing. Yay, GIVEAWAY!

AND because I'm feeling extra excited this morning (could be the caffeine, but let's go with it, shall we?) if I have more than 15 comments, I'll give away TWO prints!

(One entry per person, please.) :) I'll do the drawing on Tuesday, May 18!

  1. Oh, tricky questio. Personally I wouldn´t tell untill I was selected, because I´d be afraid I´d jinx it. I guess I´m kind of a coward. On the other hand, I am REALLY curious about what you´re up to, so my final answer is: Tell! Tell! now! Tell! NOW!!

  2. Oh definitely now - you need to let us see your creations - but I have no patience! It is so exciting. Someday I would like to teach too but just having fun learning now. Hey I just finished the painting that I started in Misty's class - lots of work but I am happy with it finally. Just posted it. I will keep my fingers crossed for you - love the proposal page. But of course you need to do what you feel most comfortable with and I will survive waiting...

  3. Although I would love to see the project ahead of time, I think it's a better idea to wait until everything is a go... That is, unless you may want to get some feedback before submitting your idea? Wow... what an interesting question! Apparently, I'm not much help, yeah? lol!

  6. I can only advise you what i would and i think you should reveal after you get the go ahead. in terms of manifesting and creative visualisation..keeping your energies pure and from any negatives makes them stronger more likely to be created into reality..also your energies will be focused intense and concentrated if you hold to your goals within..if this makes sense..well just my two penneth worth..but ultimitley you must follow your own heart and instincts

  8. I'm new to your blog, hi! I'd love to see what you're creating but you should probably wait until after they officially let you know. Maybe a sneak peek?

  9. Absolutely! Show us... because I have no patience and I really can't wait to see, but also because it's gonna make people sign up for you and let us send our thoughts+ prayers your way... but, and I know this is cynical, but i have to say, what if someone hijacks your idea?that's what i'd be cautious about...

  10. humm I don't know... I guess you should probably wait, since if you DO get picked it would be really special to let us know with THE big reveal... but maybe if you can, take some pictures of small details you might love, so we do get a sneak at your work.

    Thanks!
I will blog about your giveaway, ok?

  11. Hmmmmm, that's a tough one. My selfish side is screaming and jumping, "yes, show me! show me!". and my more responsible side says, "hmmm, perhaps she should wait to reveal this only to the board". Hmmmm.

    SHOW IT! :D lol!

  12. Hi Shelly,
From a business side of things - strictly for you....I think you should hold on to your ideas and plans until you get an acceptance. Sort of thinking in a "copyright" kind of way. We will all be that more excited when we do get to see the offerings!
    Good luck with your decision~!

  16. ohhhh, would love to see but i think you should wait. at least till the deadline for submissions. just my two cents :)

i'm sure it's something fabulous and i totally can't wait to see!!!

  17. While it would be fun to see them, I think you should wait until teacher selections have been made. It's fun when art retreats have new and exciting projects to sign up for -- seems like if you release too soon, sometimes folks might start seeing similar things elsewhere (trends, take-offs, etc) which could lessen interest for the event. I say Build the anticipation!!

  18. We are the WRONG people to ask - of course we want a reveal!! :)

  19. i think you should wait to do the reveal until you are officially selected to teach shel. this way no one can capitalize on all your hard work! keep everyone hanging with the excitement of what could it be!
