There and Back Again

Art & Soul Vegas was awesome.  Great students in all three of my classes!  Really generous, and a lot of fun.  I somehow didn't take photos during class, but you'll have to take my word for it that they made awesome projects. I was super impressed and inspired by all the creativity.  I had quite a few students who were attending an art retreat for the first time.  It was really fun to see them jumping in whole heartedly.

This was the first time that Doug came along with me for an art retreat which made this one fun too.  For Father's Day we took a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon.  Doug had been there before and even hiked to the bottom and back up, but it was my first time seeing it.  Pretty amazing.  I'd just recommend that if you want to go that you find a time when it isn't so darn hot.  (See temperature gauge below!)

For me, Art & Soul was a great finale to my art retreat teaching experiences. I may send proposals to teach classes again someday. For now, I'm happy just to reflect on all of the lessons I learned and the great joy of so many talented and fun people.

  1. Well, you know I anxiously await the day where you decide to teach again. It won't be the same at ART IS YOU this year without you!!! You should come as an attendee. You could stay with me for free!!! We could drink wine!!! (am I enticing you yet?)

    1. Of course I'm enticed!!! :) Super tempted... and I'll definitely think about it. I loved the whole Art is you experience... and loved meeting you! Right now (with Art & Soul jet lag) all I can think about is slowing down for a bit and not getting on any more airplanes LOL! Miss you!!

    1. Thanks, Miss Roc! It made me sad that I'm not teaching more classes, but pretty relieved too. Making class kits makes me a bit of a neurotic mess. I'm always worried I'm going to mess something up. Lesson learned for future classes... make classes where students can bring the supplies!!! LOL! Hugs!

  3. OH how fun! Awesome that your hubs could join you! What's next on the artistic agenda?? I can't imagine that you wouldn't have another iron in the fire! :o)

    1. First on the artistic agenda is finishing a custom ordered piece! ;-) I think it's all done except for the framing. Yay! Next will be figuring out what's next. It's strange to not have a zillion things lined up. It's probably time to take a deep breath and relax for a bit before I dive into whatever is next. I'd better get started doing something soon or I'll get the crazy notion to have another kid or something. Ack. Figuring out my next project ASAP! LOL!
